Some 15 inch Toyo RA-1s. They work pretty well.

Dookie... the prices are listed on the site. Check them out. They are really well priced... especially the RA-1's.

Proxes 4 are great and very grippy as well!

But back on-topic, yay for RRM's successful history of 4G94 turboing! I can't wait to join the fun!

Does shipping from California to New York count as mileage on the kit?

Come on Vince, get it shipped (just being anxious, I still don't even have my car back from the dealership).

i assisted him the other night with his final details... i believe he'll have the kit out as soon as he gets one last fitting that i'm getting for him now. Won't be long livelyjay and you'll be adding miles to your turbo kit.

Think so... he was getting everything boxed up today i believe.

Dookie... use the 205/55's like pgmike suggested... that is what i was using and had good results with them. I've got some kuhmo's on it now... they suck compared to the toyos.

Now that is said and done... Dookie just pm or email me for further info. Gotta give ROCK back his thread.

i've been having a lot of issues with my kit.

1. denting in the header is not a good idea...i had one of the pipes dented in almost halfway and it still didn't make good clearance, i had to get the 2 middle pipes cut and remade closer in.

2. the up- and down-pipes are arranged poorly. you can't get to many bolts unless you work at it for hours or take the whole kit out. there were a lot of unnecessary hours spent trying to get at 1 bolt.

3. the heat from the pipes crystalized a $140 a/c line that can't be fixed due to aluminum ends.

4. powdercoating was scraped off by metal in engine bay behind passenger headlight due to poor fitment.

5. MOST OF ALL: because of the header not aligning correctly with the up pipe, i've had somewhere around 7 exhaust blowouts. right now the header is at a machine shop so that they can get it right.

i'm sure there are other problems that i just dont remember, but that's enough to say that there should've been more thought put into the design. i'm sorry if i'm putting down on roadrace, but this is my experience. i'm putting in a whole lot of unnecessary wrench time.

you baught this kit new?? I've yet to ever hear of any ac line issues. That is nearly impossible. As far as having issues with bolt alignments i've put more than 15 kits into cars at the shop and never had an issue. Just following the instructions in order gets me done in no time. Total kit install takes about 6-8 hours for me now.

I've seen the passenger light issue a few times. Even though the piping is the same some lights rub and others don't. I can't figure it out as they are the same lights in all cars and the same setups. Most cars have plenty of clearance and others touch a little. Never been a problem though. Can't even see it.

You must have one of the first gen headers... RRM has redone the headers and the newest sets have been going on with no denting of the head at all. You should have called in and talked to RRM about getting a new one. They would have hooked you up as i've seen them do it for others who just baught their kits.

A lot of people call with self install issues and yet i do installs at the shop and for others often and never see these issues... if i do then they are immidiately handled. The headers were the only thing that took some time as RRM makes big quantities to keep up with demand each time. Thus making a change to the setup might take a couple months to get actual final headers.(which is the version RRM has now) The headers have went thru about 6 changes now in order to fully accomodate the turbo and be a good power adder. They never once tried to hide that fact and it's in the instructions.

How long have you had your kit running on the car? I see you posted a descent time with an exhaust leak and slipping clutch at only 5 psi. Obviously your car is running well with this kit you just need to get some things finalized/worked out. It happens to best of us.

Call RRM about the header unless you're committed to that shop already. Just tell them your problems.

Finally... in the spirit of this survey... how many miles do you have on the car and any mechanical issues thus far besides the clutch? That is more or less what this thread was about.

yes, i bought this kit new. i don't know how possible it is to crystalize an a/c line with the heat from the pipes, but it happened to me and it was very clear that it was the heat from the piping on the kit.

i'm not talking about having trouble getting to bolts during the initial installment of the kit, i'm talking about when i had my first few exhaust blowouts. trying to get at the bolts on the header/up-pipe flanges. it was easier to get at it with the whole setup out of the car.

about the header. i understand that it wasn't hidden that you had to dent the header, i just didn't think it was that bad. RRM would replace the header i have now with another one if i called? that'd be nice.

i've had the kit on for about 3 1/2 months. the clutch is my only real mechanical issue. i've probably got about 9,000 miles on it by now. and that shop that i brought it to was a machine shop. they said that the flange on the header was off by .55 or something. i don't really know what that means but he said that it was a pretty bad gap. it looks a lot better now...really flush with the other flange. i ran it tonight a lot and it's running the best it's ran in a long time. i'm about to reinstall my boost controller and bring it up to 7 lbs. then it's time for the track.

anyway, sorry about the thread-jacking/venting but i was really pissed when i wrote it.
