RoadRace Stage 2 help
The only problem with teflon thread sealant is that you have to let it setup. Tape is fine if you use the right amount and wrap it correctly(in the right direction). Either way though you've got it going pretty well so keep up the good work and let us know how it ends up.
hey let me know when its finished, so u can take me in a ride, my turbo still hasnt come in yet, it should be here anyday tho, the guy sent it thro usps so it slow, i still havent figured out why my car is running lean, so i better get it fixed before the turbo comes. i'll be going to u to help with my turbo install....lol
Well everyone......IT'S DONE!
I would like to thank Boe for all the help he gave.....without it, I would still be figuring some stuff out.....
Car runs like a raped ape. It's getting better as it learns too. No problems at all so far.

Ok, maybe someone can help me with this. After 38.3 miles on the turbo, I'm getting a SES light, and its a P0172 code for bank 1 too rich. Does anybody have any ideas? I havent pulled the plugs yet, but I did gap them to .030" like the instructions said.
I just checked the gap on my plugs and they are at .030". Here is a pic of what they all look like....
One thing someone was mentioning to me was the fact that I have a stock exhaust and may cause the problem. I'm assuming only Boe or Rock would know this since they made the piggy back ECU for Stage 2--maybe not though. Anyone have any inputs?

On the teflon tape thing again. Its been my expierence that teflon tape + oil = white goo. The only thing I use these days for sealing oilpans valvecovers thermostat housings ect is Permatex Right Stuff. I put it on the same level as what PB Blaster is to WD-40, unbelievable.
A little more update on my problem...
I can't seem to show an indicated 9psi of boost at all. It only goes to 7.5psi. I've checked all my vacuum lines for leaks and can't find anything out of the ordinary. I also checked all the intercooler piping and all was good there. One thing I would like to throw out there is that I still have the stock exhaust. Would this have anything to do with either running too rich and/or low boost? I also took apart my wastgate to see if the correct spring is installed and it is mostly silver, with some blue on it. (I think it's the right one but see picture attached)

Here's a shot of my boost gauge and the needle only goes to the 7.5 psi mark (red line inbetween 5 and 10). I've never seen it go past this. Like I said earlier, I have checked and double checked my I/C lines and vacuum lines as well. When the car is idle I get 20 - 21 inches of vacuum as well. Cant seem to figure this out....
