Thoughts on Bass tubes?

Honestly Im pretty satisfied without subs. I got an Eclipse HU and Type S speakers. I originally planned on saving up for a WS7(I think thats what its called). But thinking about it some more.. it might be overkill and not only that but I got issues about taking up the entire trunk space..... the car needs room for groceries..

So.. would bass tubes give that much more of a thump? and which ones are the best(I dont think theres alot of brands though..)
EDIT: Hmm.. I looked up this Infinity Basslink.. that might seem better.

i had a big ol sound system in my trunk, if you go look at my pics you'll see what im talkin about, however i took it out because honestly, it slowed the car down as sad as that seems, so if anything i would stick with what you have, your set up sounds pretty damn good, and if your satified with it thats even more reason to maybe stick with what you have.

plus if you ask me, the sub trend seems to be taking a fall, now its just annoying unless youve got it really clean and crisp sounding and not just bugging the car next to you, know what i mean?

Bass tubes are a very nice solution for someone who wants the low end, without the annoyance, weight, and setup. You can even get them self powered, and have it all in a neat little package. Don't expect earth shattering sound, or quality... but for the price, they're a nice simple solution that shouldn't lay the hurt too heavy into your wallet.

I don't like bass tubes because they don't sound near as good they are not at all efficient with the power they use and a small subwoofer that doesn't take up hardly any more space will output 2x as much bass or more. Personally I think they are a waste of time and money.

They should make them out of porcelain so they would be good for something.

I've owned Bazooka bass tubes before and they are the perfect solution for those who have leased vehicles. Besides that I cant really see why anyone would want them. For a few hundred more you can put together a nice system with two tens and a nice small amp.

I've got a really modest bass system. Only a single 10" sub in a custom enclosure and a small 300W amp mounted under my seat. I'm very happy with it for its clean sound, balanced sound, and stealth install. However, it cost me probably $50 or $60 just to make the box and miscellaneous wiring, another $40 for the sub, and maybe $200-ish for the amp.

I don't remember exactly now, but regardless, that's a lot more than the BassLink you're looking at and mine's only a modest setup. It sounds like you're aiming for just some bass to add to a system you're already pretty happy with, so go with it. Putting together a system like most people do custom will cost you more and it sounds like you're not really interested in that kinda work anyway.

Ok, ive decided not to go with bass tubes..
This the setup Im looking into. I didnt wanna clog up the forum with another thread so Ill put this here.

1 amp
Alpine MRD-M301
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...=105&p_main=10

2 subs
JL 10w04
http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/10w0.html

Good setup? (the HU is an eclipse cd3434 and I got alpine type s speakers all around)
Are the w0's pretty good?(compared to other subs in its class/price range)

EDIT: I wish JL came out with some W0v2's.. these subs look so 90's.

They've already released a 2nd generation of the W0 lineup with improved cosmetics...they look pretty much like a W3v2 does now and the W3 goes to v3 with a silver cone...Looks great - look for info on CES 2004 and you'll see their release information. I'm not sure if its W1 or W1v2 but it's not W0 anymore (as far as I know)
