Talking customize your head unit!

simply take apart your head unit (in my case the detachable face) and remove all buttons & knobs etc. then paint to match your body color. what do you think-

i think it looks not so good. maybe you should have just bought a HU with some yellow accents? mine has red accents and blue ones, so it looks nice sitting above my AC controls at night.

Interesting, fairly innovative, very ugly imo. Credit to you for trying something different and for doing the job yourself though. Man, does being a Moderator give me the ability to award cool points?

Let me point out that the reciever was orginally a light silver color and was in my previous vehicle. Once i got it in my lancer it didn't look to good (to me anyway). Going out and buying another head unit just so it would look good in my car sounds damn foolish to me, so I decided to be cost effective and paint it myself.

Looks good to me. If it looks good to you that all that matters. Its nice to see someone trying something different. Its worth a try to see how it looks before you go and buy a new one.

Not really a big fan, but if you like it, that's all that matters. Props for having the ***** to rip down your HU and take to it with a can of spraypaint though. Looks like a pretty clean job too.

Might as well do the climate control knobs. Would definitely mesh better with HU since it is a somewhat blaring color.

it looks nice. but i bet it would look even better if you have more yellow in the car...the head unit kinda feels outa place. kinda like going to a regular party and your head unit is dressed up in its tux

many of you don't go to car shows. this "mod" will get him many points for originality. It also makes the dash stand out, causing the judges to look more closely. with very few other accents in the area, he would have many extra points that would seperate him from you in a show. I give him two thumbs up because it looks good and is original.
