Lancer Remote on ebay that has trunk button!

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has this remote (it has a button for lock, unlock, and trunk), or if everyone has the same remote i do (no trunk button).

Would this remote even work for us? Have to wire some kind of receiver for the trunk. Any ideas?

here's the link to the remote on ebay:

would be nice but i'm thinkin that unless you have one allready or at least the wireing that it would be useless.since you have to go to a dealership to program the key...you prob have to buy the reciever from them also...and knowing them it's prob a bit pricey.i'll just stick with the little lever next to my seat than have to spend over $100 so i can push a button

Suspect...

Since there is no solenoid installed in the Lancer how are you gonna pop the trunk?

I recently installed a solenoid, since I hate manual stuff other than car tranny's, and have done many in the past.

Click Here to order a solenoid. Its only $27.95 and worth every penny.

Obviously to trigger it remotely you need to install an alarm or keyless entry system with a spare channel.

If anyone wants to do a remote car start on a manual transmission ask away. Its great in the winter.

Best alarm, remote start in the world. At least I think so...

I think that's actually the perfect answer. Damn. I wouldn't have explained it nearly that good. Curse you!

Ahh Hobie

To gain the respect from such a knowledgeable person is extremely honorable.

Thanks, any questions let me know. I have done custom work for a while, engines are new to me but I am catching up.

Question Remote / Power trunk release

Is it possible the Galant keyless entry system (with remote trunk release on the FOB) is the same one used in the lancer? If I was , I'd grab off the shelf parts already made for things "out of sight" that don't directly address performance. Sooo, I invested a whole $10 in the Galant fob with remote trunk button, and hoping there is a channel for it's control in the receiving unit. (wishful thinking?) I was hoping to add a solenoid in the trunk and a relay if necessary, but hopefully the controls are there and they can use galant programming instructions.. That's my logic at least, albeit possible hugely Flawed! Any comments? anyone here of this being done to a 'stock' system (I already have remote entry). Thanks:

A little confused here... What is a solenoid? That Viper alarms says only automatic trannys. I'm guessing to start a manual it would have to be in neutral in the first place. Just wondering because I'm wanting to install an alarm and the remote start would be nice to have. I don't care to much for the remote trunk, but could be nice to have.

Angry two different subjects here:

Umm. I think we're talking about two different things here. I'm interested in the power remote "option" I plan on adding to my Lancer... someone interjected with remote starts.. which should be on a new thread. agreed?? This started on remote trunks... remote starts are of an entirely different nature..duh.
