Remote Start Installation
I have the same AST system you have JOKa on my 5 speed
I knew I will not be able to do it right, so I had my friend install it. He said it was a ***** and a half to install. I paid him some cash for it. Took him about 4 hrs per day for 3 days. Too many precaustions though since its a 5 speed. You have to remember certain steps before turning off your car or it won't remote start. Other than that, it

umm link did it to my car, in 2 hours.. and that was with a retarded error from previous setup.
I think if I did my remote start in the warm, it would have taken me about 5 hours to do... but because it was cold, etc... It took longer (1-2 hours a day for a week)...
Yes, you have to remember to set the park break, leave the car out of gear, and touch the brake before you get out... it takes some getting used to, but it works for me. It takes about 3 20 degree days to fully appreciate it.

Guys..... I have installed these many times, professionally at a car audio shop. I did my Lancer two months ago.
Please, please listen to me on this one. YOU MUST install a safety switch around the shifter. A 30 cent spring and a piece of coathanger will save you, your car, and a bad mistake if you ever start in gear.
Everyone says "well I never" or "I am the only one who uses my car" but if you ever take it into service, valet........
Everyone makes mistakes, we are human. In my garage I was wondering "why the hell is it not starting" when I was testing the install. If I did not have the safety switch I would have severely hurt my dad and probably the garage door and my car...... since I FORGOT I left it in gear.
Please do not take this as a joke, you can be sued let alone hurt someone if you start that car in gear...
