Has anyone ever installed remote start on a 5spd, and how long did it take? Any pointers?

Yeah, I'll be doing it on mine as soon as I find my wire cutting/stripping/crimping tool. I was planning on doing it today, but I couldn't find the tool and got pissed.

EDIT: And then took a nap.

 

Please just let me know when you get it done.

 

i second that notion.. please let me know how the installation goes.. i have definately screwed up my instalation and could use some help.. its been 3 months now.. all messed up..

Decided to take the coward's way out. I'm having it installed when I get some other stuff done. I'm becoming less and less certain of my wiring abilities in my old, feeble age.

well me being 17, and my dad being the install manager for sound advice, we bought an AST ultra alarm system. it has the 2 way pager and stuff. remote start, door lock/unlock, trunk release, so on. i have the diagram somewhere of which wires do what on the 03 lancer es. i gotta find it then ill post it here.

 

I?ve only ever seen a few of these on 5 spd?s, little linear actuators to pull the car out of gear and pull e-brake ( if not engaged ). Sounds like a nightmare to install to me, I guess if you wanted to cheat you could just remember to leave your car in N and e-brake on. Which route were you guys thinking of taking ?

 

i dunno about you but i ALWAYS park with the car in neutral and ebrake up.

 

I always pull the brake and put her either in 1st or R depending
