Ok, I just got a new system, not even installed yet, but I'm open to your opinion. Here is the list:
Pioneer Head Unit DEH-7600MP
Rockford Fosgate 900 Watt Amp P3002
Rockford Fosgate 10" Subwoofer, 2 each, P210S4
Q-Logic Sub Box, QLH-10D65
I picked these pieces based on price vs quality and advice from my son.

i just got that head unit installed last week and i really love it. to be honest, i'm not the brightest when it comes to the technical aspects of sound, so all the options and configuration was a bit too much for me, but i'm sure its nice for audiophiles

Honestly, as a car audio competitor, I have absolutely no features on my CD player except volume, trebel, and bass. Sound quality isn't about bells and whistles, it's about purity.
That system will be a great start! Next step is a great set of componants for the front, and a good amp for them!
