Post Satellite Radio

I'm soon getting a new head unit with two self power bazooka tube subwoofers. the only thing i'm contemplating about is whether or not i should invest in satellite radio. XM radio looks good payin only $10 a month, but is it worth it? does the sound and clarity really improve? and is it worth getting over a normal radio? I was considering it but am probably gonna stay away from it, wata u think?

it all depends on how much you listen to the radio now... truthfully the quality is amazin but for me it's not worth since I only listen to CDs when I'm in the car. If you listen to the radio .. alot then I would say XM is worth it

It's worth it if you subscribe to the Playboy Channel

Yo i buy alot of cds, prolly like 6 a month, but the thing with me is I like listening to stuff that is new, and being from not a city...All the radio stations play around here is country and like pop thats played out, and that aint for me.. So XM is great to hear wahts new especially for rap...so even if you do buy cds it still a good deal, it cost less than one cd a month.

Yes, yes, and YES! I got XM when it first came out a couple years ago, and it is incredible. Many of the stations are commercial-free, and there is quite a lot to choose from. I don't listen to anything else (unless I need local news/weather, then it switches over). Once you get one you'll never go back. That's the first thing I'm doing with my EVO when it gets here in February. BTW, XM is better than Serius, IMO.

yeah so for those of you that have it, jc, are the songs that are new edited? or is it straight of the cd as it normally would be? cause i can't see how they would edited anything. and as for the songs on each station, it just plays a mix set up by XM depending on the genre?? or do you pic the individual song within the genre?

XM 66 is one of the best stations ever, other then maybe hot 97 in the city. The station plays all the new rap...its so hott....and as the commericals say...THEY F#CKIN SWARE TOO.....And thier are DJS on the stations...they play different tunes...****s hott....thats all i can say...i recommend it to all..thans thier is XM 67 which is kinda pop rap..like what you would hear on charts...but thier is some new stuff too...and its a good station..its more like the radio...but just rap ...and they dont sware.

To be honest, I would probably find XM useful when I'm on a road trip or something, but for daily driving, I'll burn my own rap mix

It's worth $10 a month to avoid the morning talk on the way to work, or the religious programming on Sunday mornings...

i like listening to talk on the way to work (howard stern all the way), and sunday mornings i am in bed, or would change the channel so as to NOT listen to religion. get a MP3 cd player and you can listen to whatever song you want, whenever you want, without changing cds often, or looking for a station with something decent.

if you rely on the radio for your music, it's great. commercial free, tons of stations, clear sound. but nothing can beat your own collection of cds or mp3s, if that is what you listen to mostly.
