I am not sure, but around here it runs around $100 for the rebuild and the upgrade, that is on a Acura but I am sure it would not be that much different for the mitsu.

I can do an upgraded alternator for those interested. Output will be 160 amps peak. I did mine originally for my Evolution which had quite a high power draw due to all the aftermarket electronics.

Yes, a core is a requirement, as I do not stock cores. I don't really do this as a business so I would not really know what to charge. It is quite labor intensive though to re-fin the stators. But I will let you know when I get a chance to review my work log.

so, we send you ours. you work on it, send it back, and so we're out of a car for about 2 weeks. right?

edit: not trying to be a smartass, just trying to get an idea of how long i'd be without my car.

Ive been looking into doing a GM Large Case Alt. Output would be around 300ish amps. It is possible and has been done many times before on smaller cars.

only prob is that it is expensive. I think there is a company called Iraggi Altenator located somewhere here in the US that does rebuilds pretty cheap.
