deh-p740mp & ipod adapter
Hi. I just bought my ipod adapter today to go in my deh-p740mp deck. I'm kinda new to this self installation stuff. So, here's what I did:
I connected the power wired from the adapter to the yellow 12V wired from my deck.
I grounded the adapter with the black wire from my deck.
I connected the colors for the ipbus as shown in the manual for the adapter.
I turn on the power in my car, and absolutely nothing happens with my ipod. With the car power on, I switched the ipbus connector to the other port. I hear stuff through my car speakers, but still no working ipod (no power going to the ipod, and no play through my deck).
Help? Thanks.

make sure your black wire is actually grounded since when you plug your antenna in that also acts as a ground
also make sure you know what wires you are actually splicing...colors vary from deck to deck sometimes

Try to make a seperate ground for the ipod, because if you are POSITIVE that you have the right power cable connected, then it MUST be the ground that isn't allowing it to power on. (unless your Ipod got shorted out or something) Maybe some pix would help us get you on the right track so we can see whats going on.
