i was thinking gettin Sony MEX-5DI dunno if its good or not.. it doesnt have build in amp..so need an amp to pump stock speakers..so its like another 150 on top of this deck to make it work!
and the price on ebay is about 550+150(amp)=700...should i get thses or just get a dvd screen+dvd player for 1400?

hey cup
have you listened to the JVC unit yet? its a nice unit, but when i heard it at circuit city, the volume max was REALLY weak. it might have just been the wiring but i'd check it out first. just FYI.

really? that's somewhat disappointing. but then again, it depends if they had it wired to an amp, and what speakers, etc.....plus i mean it's circuit city. i don't plan on powering my speakers with it so i don't think it would be that much of a problem. 2 volt preouts, plus KILLER looks (IMO, i like the classic look with the nice silver knob....) thanks for the info though, i'll have to check it out if i can find one somewhere to listen to.

thats not necessarily true...maybe for speakers, but as for speakers/headunit, it doesnt really matter if they're the same brand...it's not like that head is specially designed to work best with their speakers...

I have two... Sony CDX-MP70, AWESOME deck. It has this feature called DSO where it brings speakers that are in the doors to dash level. Sounds like you have tweeters with your stock speakers. I took it out though and getting it replaced for the same one. CD spindle was spinning the cd lopsided. I now have a Sony CDX-M610 I think it is discontinued I got it for $300 when it was new. THe CDX-MP70 I got for $200 off of pi5setup.

for the most part, that's true. at the same time, there's something to be said for brand loyalty. if i find a company that makes a quality product, i try to stick with them and rep their stuff as much as possible. i have a big mouth, so if a company gets on my good side, they get a lot of free advertising. if they don't however...
