Another question, grounding problem

Where do you guys ground your amps if they're in the trunk? I've got a faint whine that stays the same no matter what volume. It's annoying at low volume so i just crank it up I just ground off a spot of paint in the spare tire well and screwed the ground wire down to that. Just wondering if I should run a wire back from the battery. Thanks

Ground to bolt in center hinge for rear seats, and be sure you use some steel wool to have a bare metal surface for a great ground. then place hing back over ring terminal and bolt down tight.

Even if you have a good ground...if you have multiple amps you might need a noise reducer. I had the same problem, they only cost like 30 bucks and are easy as plug and play. Plays clear as day now!!

I know, that's what I did. Was just wondering if there was a better way since I'm getting a bit of noise. Might have to put a noise filter in tho.

try what was mentioned above and sand away the paint around the ground point so it bare metal and there is more of a contact surface

I am running two PG amps and have them mounted together in the same place and have no ground noise or hum. I grounded them on the right sise of the trunk, right next to the trunk hinge. I actually drilled the hole and screwed them in. Try that.

Check the wires and all your terminals hooked up to the back of the subs (inside the box and outside).. and the amp terminals. If there is a slight loose connection, check that. (where you crimped the "u-type" connectors on. Make sure you don't have a cell phone with you when you are doing this, or any device that emits EMI.

Where do you have your noise filter installed? Im not extremely sure that it matters, but I bought the scosche unit, and installed it reverse of how it is supposed to be, between the rca wire and the amp. I believe it is intended to be installed right off the head unit.....for example headunit>noise filter>rca>amp i have mine going like this headunit>rca>noise filter>amp Im not sure that it matters, but try it and see

as has already been said...definitely sand away that paint and make sure you got some kind of connector there...cleaner installs are always better installs
