new system

hey, within the next month or two i'm going to be putting in a new system, i think i'm going to buy 2 sets of the infinity KAPPA component, 4 speakers, 4 tweeters, on a jensen head unit, i was thinking about buying 2 amps later on, one to run the tweeters, and one to run the speakers, the jensen deck is pretty freaking hooked up, if anyone wants the specs on it just PM me and ill let u know, 3 preamp outputs, 1 sub output, and loads more options

a friend of mine set his system up pretty much the same way, he had 1 amp running 4 tweeters, 1 amp running 4 speakers, and 1 amp running a single sub, and also an electronic filter, i think he meant equalizer, im not sure, but someone stole it (NEVER MESS WITH A MANS CAR)

im not into coming down the street just hearing a loud banging, i like crisp clear sound with good bass, im thinking the components will give pretty good bass though, i hesitate on a sub a lot cause they give a lot of added weight, so im thinking just putting up the 8 speaker system and dynamatting, fatmatting, whatever, my doors and all that good stuff and i should be pretty set

just wondering anyone think ill have a problem running that system? especially loud ;]

Why do you need 4 tweeters? I have always had 2. Does it make that much of a difference?

I like to have highs in both the back and front. Equals out the ranges.

The ONLY reason you should be running Kappa's off a Jensen deck, is if you have them AMPED! Check the S/N ratio for the Jensen deck, its usually pretty crappy. I have nothing against Jensen, for the price, but that's like putting 4 thousand dollar rims on a 500 dollar car... G H E T T O

I hate pioneer. The pioneers in my experience have broken prematurely and were very temperamental.

infinity speakers with a jensen deck....um.....no! Buy a quality deck. You will be happier in the long run. Go to crutchfield.com if you need some ideas

ive been to crutchfeild, sounddomain, and etronics, etronics has the best prices, but the jensen deck has a lot of features, i dunno, for the price i paid for it, i think its ok, but its good enuf to power the stock speakers for now until i get an amp or two

eh, headunit. if you're not powering your speakers with it, does it really matter that much? it'll sound fine. depending on money situation, i might stick with my stock headunit when i put in my system. stock one sounds great as it is...

to be honest, if you are really hardcore you should get an eclipse headunit with no amp, just 5V outputs. can't get much better than that.

there you go....what's wrong with that?? if you are powering your speakers with an external amp, who cares what headunit you have? 5v out is really really good, for ANY headunit.

yea, well some people have a habit to bad mouth something because they have never heard of it, but i like to do my homework, it gives out more power than most of the units in its price range, it plays mp3s, cds, cd-rs, cd-rws, it actually has alot of features, but i agree with your point, get a deck that does what you need, it makes no difference if your powering your speakers with an amp, the only thing im not sure about is running 8 speakers, ill probly need 2 amps :\

8 speakers? you mean 4 mids and 4 tweeters? nah, just get proper crossovers (which i'm sure you have already) and run the front mids and tweets as 2 left and right channels, same for the back. tweeters dont' require as much power as larger speakers. just run each component set as one channel and it'll be fine. the crossover will take car of the frequencies.
