subs cut out?????
subs cut out?????
hey i was in my car on my way to work listenin to a CD and all of sudden the subs stop hitting.... i have no idea why..... any suggestions on what would be wrong?..... also i had everything bought and installed from bestbuy so should i jus bring it back to them?
first of all, did you check the wires? it may be as simple as a wire came loose. it could be as bad as you blew your amp. why don't you try takin a look at the connections and see if anything is loose, check to see if your amp is on, etc.
Check under the hood, its usually always the fuse...and everyone always forgets to check the fuse...if not id bring it back to best buy anyways,,,they installed it let them fix it...
Wow when i wrote mine the other guy was writin his..hmmm...

k..my procedure
1. check your fuses (amp and then the big one under the hood)
2. check your wiring to the amp/ from the amp
3. recheck your fuses
4. recheck the wiring
5. give up and call friends
it should probably be just a fuse

It depends, did just the subs cut out, or did all your audio cut out, happened to me, blew a 300a fuse LOL, but everything went, not just bass(subs). Let me know so I can try to help you, just a little vague but more then likely, it's a fuse.
I had the same thing happen to me....I hit a bump and the sub just stopped working. ..so checked the fues and that was all good...wires were all good...checked them like 20 times....then i bought a new rca wire and that still didn't work....then some kid at a local shop broke out the volt tester and said i had no signal comin from the head unit...that was in my eclipse...havent tested out the new head unit tho....i just found that odd to happen
Maybe you just over heated your amp and it cut out. It shouldn't be blown just got to hot. Fuse would be my first guess and an over heated amp would be my second. Check all connections though.
It would be the Black ( NEgative) cable running from the Amp or CAp to the actual body of the car. It should be underneath the carpeting of the trunk. on a bolt on the chasis of the vehicle. make sure it's properly tied down. if loose, your bass won't pump
