subs cut out?????
jus look for it...and did u check to see if the amp is on...coz if its not then its usually the fuse taht blew...but if u wanna c the ground u have to find the wires...it should usually be in the back....llike the back seat...and i took it to some audio shop they jus screwed it in the metals of my back seat...so u mite want to take out the back seat to see if its there
thanx...... now i opened my trunk and my bass is hitting but ALOT softer than it used to.... not completly cut out though.... and i also notice that my front speakers have become highly distorted at semi-loud lnoise levels.... never used to be.... im thinking maybe the bass blockers i had on em blew???
just take it back to best buy. they installed it, let them figure out what they did wrong and how to fix it. if it isn't one of the simple problems mentioned before (fuse, loose wires, etc.) just demand that they fix it
ight sounds good....... and i also got one other questions.... i bought new speakers.... got em in the rear fine but up front the magnent makes contact w/ the window.... (only like 2mm to big) any suggestions on a fix for this?
Sorry to bring an old thread back.
The subs that I had for like 3 weeks went out(They dont bump AT ALL)....I think I pushed them too hard...
Right when it did I checked the amp right away and it was still cold and the digital display was still on(alpine v12 mrd301)
I only had the music playing for like 20 seconds before it cut out, and I didnt hear a loud pop or anything. The sub(JL 3v2) from the outside looks fine but I know that isnt saying much.
Reading this thread Im guessing its a connection involved with the HU and this so called 'remote wire' so Im gonna go to the shop later on to get that checked.

if it was your remote wire your amp wouldn't be on. If you amp is on that means you fuse and remote are fine. Check your AV's. Also I used to have JL 12 w6's and they had different wiring options. Make sure a speaker wire didn't slip off a pole. You could be running to many ohms too. Try running your speakers in series if their not already. I used to run my subs in parell and even though they hit harder they were to much for my amp. Getting late can't spell.
First mistake, you let Best Buy touch touch your car. They have a bad habit of not hiring Certified installers(means they have to pay them more money).
Did you purchase the service plan for the sub and amp? Take it back to them. If anything is blown have them replace it.
