Pioneer indash DVD interference problems on AV INPUTS with PS2

hey anyone who decides to read this.

i just got a pioneer head unit with flip out screen and all that good stuff.

i have a playstation 2 connected on the av inputs but when i turn the power inverter on i get some lines going across the screen and noise in the speakers, then when i power the ps2 up to play it gets even worse.

the screen is clear and has no lines when i play a dvd or cd or listen to the radio.

just when using the av input.

seems like the wires are getting some interference somewhere

i had a seperate screen before and jacked the audio into my rockford deck and had no noise problems with the sound, however i had a noise filter connected

i didnt put that on the pioneer deck though

anyone think if i installed that noise filter it would get rid of it? cause its really damn annoying and if i can fix it i will take the ps2 out.

anyone else have this problem?

thanks in advance.

i have the pioneer avic-n1 with a ps2 hooked up to it, i had that problem with a small 95 watt inverter and the original bigger ps2. i bought a 175 watt inverter and have the slim ps2 that only puts out 45 watts and dont have the problem anymore. so how big is your inverter and which ps2 do you have?

About a year ago I had a pioneer Avic n1 and had the exact same problem. The power inverter I had had a fan in it and it was picking that up some how. I bought a cheaper inverter with no fan and it worked great.

the inverter is a 400 w it has dual sockets on it.

and the ps2 is a slim one as well.

i just have it plugged into my cigarette lighter, but i just ran it out the window direct to the battery and it was still the same problem

i just run an extension cord to the car and ran the ps2 off the house power, the lines and interference go away.

i also put that noise filter back in there that did nothing to help.

this sucks.

It's a sad fact, but there are some power inverters that will cause interference. No matter what you do, you will still get it. I've had 3 or 4 different inverters in a few different vehicles and I've had a lot of experience with this. At first I thought it was bad grounds but 2 of the inverters I had would give me the same interference even when directly connected to the battery, so obviously it wasn't the ground. We tried just about everything to get them to work, but it was a no go. Then I did some research and apparently, there are some inverters that just cause interference and their's no way to get around it other than to get a different inverter. As someone else said, the fan is usually the main culprit, so if you do have to get another one, I'd recommend a smaller one without a fan.

i had the system before with ps2.. i disected the power inverter and had an "mini add on circuit" to power it... i believe the power inverter was 140watt... the thing is..it uses an 25 amp fuse.. i added the mini add on circuit with 35amp fuse so it ran with no problem at all..
