Question Remote Start and Alarm help

I just attended the Spring Break Nationals in Daytona and was speaking to a representative of Ultra Start, a company that specializes in Remote Start systems and Alarms. He as telling me about his system and when I asked him if he was selling them at the event he looked around and explained to me that he wasn't supposed to sell anything there. He also told me that his kits retail for $400 but if I came back the next day (yesterday) he would sell me the kit on display for $99. So I went back and bought the system.

now onto the question at hand, I really want to get all the hands on experience I can with this car but I don't want to hurt it in the process. Would it be more wise of me to take the kit to a shop and have it installed or do you guys think I can take on this project myself? Any advise at all would help. thanks.

If you have a 5-speed most shops wont install it. There are step by step instructions somewhere on this forum for a homebrew saftey switch that will keep you from starting it in gear, I havent done it yet, but I plan to do at least the remote start soon.

I'll post the link after i find it.

This link has instructions for the safety switch: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=15578

Definately essential if you got the remote start.
