Go with a stealth box. One that fits into where your spare tire sits, that way you will still have full use of your trunk.

And as for the no spare thing; Mitsubishi has roadside assistance 24 hours a day, plus there is always AAA (good thing to have regardless) or CAA for us Canucks.

If you have the $$$ go for a custom fiberglass box with 2 12" Alpine Type X subs. Have them mold the fiberglass into the sides of the trunk. Also make sure the boxs are on the large size. And a whole lot of power (5000watts+). That would be an awesome show/comp system.

my question is:
How much money are you going to spend?
What subs/amps do you like?
How many subs?
How much time do you have?
Making a fiberglass box takes more time than money. you need alot of commitment.
go to differnt sites and check out there products and look at there technology. there is a lot out there.

i will post pics of my one 12" Diamond D6 with 1200.1 Diamond D5 Amp. this combo with there ported superbox is unbelievable i use to have 2x 12" D3 but upgraded to 1x 12" D6 and it kills my old system. I am trying to convince my friends audio shop to put my car on the meter to see how many db's it hits. I use to hit 143-147.0db with 2x 12" D3's and D6 1200.1 amp.

So look at diamondaudio.com for info

According to your post of $5000-$10,000 to spend on your car, I'll say good to a good stereo shop and they'll give you recommendation of what to do. After all, that's why they're in the biz...

Wow...where to start? I'll try to categorize my personal preferences first:

- head unit -
Eclipse or Alpine...you can't go wrong

- front stage -
I'm personally running Diamond Audio 6.5" components.
I also recommend MB Quart, Focal, high end JL...there are more, but I'll just stop there.

- sub(s) -
Image Dynamics, JL, Diamond Audio, high end Eclipse...just to name a few.

- amp(s) -
I'm running JL, but I would also recommend Diamond Audio, Alpine...this list could go on and on too.

I agree with SLVROZ...find a reputable local shop and hash out some ideas with them. Read up on the equipment that they have to offer, or hell, throw ?s about the equipment back in this thread and somebody will give you some info on it I'm sure. Look around on carstereo.com or look at some of the installs around here to get a solid idea of how you would like it to look.

........or, just send me all your money and I'll get to fiberglassin' for ya!

Good luck with it all.
