second battery

sooo pretty much its just going to suck the life out of my battery?!?!?!i had thought the remote cuts it on when i turn the car on. and when i turn the car off the remote shuts it off

Caps don't draw power, they store it. The remote lead is olny live when the car stereo is on. The power button on the radio or the ignition off in most cases drops 12V from the remote lead.

Either your remote lead is not turning off, (amps would be on too) or one of the items is defective (cap, volt gauge on cap, amp, etc.) Your car battery is a big cap, the stiffening cap in line can have no more and should have no less voltage than the car battery less the losses due to resistance in the wiring.

Check to see if the amps are on.

remove the cap

If these don't help pull the main fuse at the car battery for the stereo system and start looking for the problem.
