The first ones are hardcore sweetass speakers, even better amped. The second I'd reccommend if you are just running them off the HU, and don't plan to use tweeters in your system. How much you spending on the HU by the way?

and go with this HU:

You could order it all from etronics, and have a sweet little setup for under $300 (or just over if you go with the REV speakers).

Sony cdx-mp40 HU $188. Best Buy guys recommended for my price range. I already have the 4 way pioneers in the picture you posted. Those are 6.5's.

Let me know if I'm right, and how is the HU in your estimation?

Pioneer HU are EXCELLENT, especially this new one. Has a new digital filtered radio tuner, mp3 options, and crossover options. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE GUYS AT BEST BUY! I used to work there and THEY DON'T KNOW JACK (for the most part).

I wouldn't steer ya wrong man. That's exactly what I would get if I was looking to put a system in my Lancer in that price range.

Question

I have the 6.5's in my possession already, those will work all around?

i have a pioneer h/u and its great i would sugest pioneer or alpine im not really a big fan of anything else. and you get 6 1/2 or 6 3/4 the 6 1/2 need adapters. i have infinity kappa 3ways in my rear. they sound pretty good. could be better.

o BTW ebay has the best prices anywhere. make sure you buy from a good seller and that it is a NEW product not opened or display item. you can get stuf for like $100 less than crutchfield.

Pioneer's new HU have the HPF and LPF built in. Also, the speakers I have, and the REV speakers have built in crossovers.

lANCERoz2003:

What's the model number of the 6.5s you have? Some Pioneer's are made for oversized applications as well, so they might work. If not, I say return them all, including (especially) the HU, and order from etronics.

Ok. I'm an idiot. I checked the speakers you have (the 6.5) they should fit fine without any cutting. I'd personally take the 6x9s back and just get another pair of 6.5. Cutting the area won't effect the sound as long as its a clean cut, and a solid mount. Nothing's wrong with the 4way that I can tell, the mounting depth looks fine. Do yourself a favor and get rid of the Sony HU.

DUDE! I just remembered I have 2 Best Buy gift cards I want to sell! If you want to buy them for like $50 (they are worth about $80 total) it'll save you some money and I can get them off my hands. Let me know.

My thoughts precisely. I even love my dearly departed (stolen) tape deck in my old car. Bottom to top of the line they're good. Features vs price they're tops in my book (for whatever that's worth).
