You're from Boston? Hell, don't pay more than $50 to install the whole shootin match. If you drive out, I'll give ya a hand and we'll have it all set in no time. I won't even charge ya (more than the cost of a case of )

Dude, install your system with Higgity or by yourself and save money. The HU is a VERY EASY install, and I mean SUPER EASY. Rear speakers are a snap as well. The front doors are kindof a pain, but not really that hard. You could save more than $100 if you do it yourself. If you need cheat-sheets, order them from Crutchfield.

4 way speakers in a 4 speaker system is overkill. I don't even like 3 way...your paying more money for high performance treble.

Listen guy...your not gonna be happy..you got 4 small speakers and a low end, yet overpriced head unit.

Take back the hu..the stock one isn't very bad. Replace the speakers...see how you like them. If you want to change them after there in...good luck with your selection.
Head unit should be the last thing to do unless you are adding amps, hu, and speakers at once.

after your speakers are in, save up for a nice nakamichi, alpine, or clarion with a high signal to noise ratio...your wait will be much more well rewarded

Thanks for all the info. Returning the HU and replacing stock with higher end HU. As for the speakers, 6.5's will fit all around I've found out, but I may replace the 4-ways with Purecoda's suggestion of the 3way pioneers. Thanks again, hopefully I'll have picks soon, just had RMR intake installed as well!! Sounds awesome!

if you want my honest opinion (as i'm sure no one does and no one cares), get a really good set of components for up front. components are ALWAYS better (comparably) when dealing with stereo (seperate tuner, seperate speakers, seperate amp, etc.). you will notice a difference in sound with some spankin good tweeters installed. as for the rears, get some cheaper coax's just to handle a little more power (or abandon the rears like i did, who cares about rear passengers anyway?!), and fade your system to the front either slightly or all the way. get a decent power amp and rock a subwoofer in the trunk.

now as for tuning, make sure the subwoofer is the only thing pushing out bass (<200Hz or <100Hz). crossover the speakers so that the woofers don't have to work hard to push out low frequencies. trust me this will make a difference. the woofers should now be only pushing mid-bass and mid-range, and the tweeters will take care of the treble. with each speaker doing it's seperate job, your system will sound kick-***. if you need suggestions on how to set this up with a particular budget, pm me or im me on aim. if you really don't care what i think and are just gonna do it yourself, that's cool too, just tryin to help.

I just checked out the Pioneer speakers and HU at Best Buy today... Definitely like em both. I really like the 4-way 6.5s. They were $80 there, but the site I told you about has em for $50. And the new HU (the 6500) is SWEET! Did you see one of the screensavers is the Evo rally racing?! I almost want to sell my old one and get the new one JUST FOR THAT!

Thanks cup for the info, doing it my way though, Purecoda returned the 6x9's today and picked up another pair of 6.5's, keeping the Sony HU, strictly on looks and MP3 playback, want all interior to match the red gauges. Thanks for all the help!
