can't get keyless entry prog procedure to work

I've tried the programming keyless entry procedures that have already been posted but I can't get the step: 'press hazard switch 6 times within 10 seconds' to work. It doesn't ever lock and unlock the doors for me (which indicates programming mode). I have pin one shorted to pin 4 or 5 via paperclip on the data link controller. Any help would be appreciated.

Thx

Try an actual piece of wire to jumper the pins together. Sometimes paperclips have a thin galvanized type of coating that keeps them from being electrically conductive. This should solve your problem.

I have the same problem. I tried using a paper clip and a jumper with no luck
