oh you will like this sub over anything rockford could put out and any other sub in its price range
yes you run at 2 ohms to reach 600 watts
as for amps i started out on
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/MTX-4...oductDetail.do
ran both my speakers and sub off of it, 600 watts to the sub and it sounded greaT!!
i now just use that for my speakers and run
http://sonicelectronix.com/item_1500.html
to my subs, just because of a custom set up idea :P ... i have it set at about 800 watts max cuz 1300 is a lil much for my everyday taste

Sorry lexat20 I'm just looking for a good setup for x-mas. I know, long wait but my car is brand new and I'm barely getting any money now so I'm getting the HU first and the sub and amp later. Maybe my parents will alow me to get it sooner I don't know.

Also with the HU (Kenwood ) I'm getting will I be able to use my stock sub? Crutchfield says "If the factory radio is replaced, the factory sub will no longer work". But I'm not sure if it's true. I would like to keep and use the factory sub and amp until I get the other stuff.

factory sub? ... any amp and sub will work with anything, just might require some wire modification.

Yeah I got the infinity 315w sound package but only 45w of the 315 is going to the sub and other speakers (7 total). I only asked the question because of what crutchfield said. When I get the HU I will look at things and see whats going on.

only thing that might be diffrent is the hook up to the HU, other than that it should be like any other amp

So you bridged three channels to get 300w @ 4 Ohms and then it doubled when you went to 2 Ohms?

nope, that 1 amp is atcually 2 amps in one and you cant run 2 amps to 1 speaker unless its dual voice coil...but 2 channel amp at 100 a channel at 2 ohms bridged makes 200 rms, x3 max power = 600 watts

its a 1200 max power rated amp

Alight I am totally confused.
1) I thought it was a 4-channel amp and at 2 Ohms it is only 100w per channel.
2)If you bridge the 4 channels wouldn't that be 400w. (100w x4)
3) Where did that three come from?
4)What do you mean when you say it is actually 2 amps in one?
5)Isn't that kicker L7 a dual voice coil?
6) I'm a newbie

1) ohms has nothing to do with the amp
2) bridged just means double power basically
3) ?? what 3?
4) its 2 600 watt amps put together basically into a bigger amp made together .. 2 amps cannot be run to the same voice coil
5)yes
6) your learning

rms power isnt max power, so 50 watts rms doesnt mean it only going to put out 50 watts
rms is just the amount it can continuously put out which means nothing to us

So is that amp supposed to be able to put out 600w or is that like pushing it?

I'll look around tomarrow and see if I can make sense of any of this.
