alarm idea!

im researching alarm and came across this guy's comment. i think its the best idea i ever read:

"I have a magnadyne and I love it. I am not a fan of dei because most thiefs know that is the number one brand so they are prepared to get around them. My favorite thing to do when installing an alarm is strobes. Get you as many as you want and put them everywhere that way when the alarm is triggered the thief won't be able to steal anything because he can't see anything. 2 flash per second bright *** white light that will blind you. Also your wires under the hood put them through a couple set of steel braided hosing that way the are almost impossible to cut."

Wrd.

Question

ok, since a couple so far thinks like its a good idea, lets start talking about materials and placements.

so what is a good set of strobes to buy?

as of location, i was thinking of the edges of the windshield (the right side, left side, and two where the dash and windshield meet). The strobes should be placed where a person can easily be flashed but yet hard for him to reach it.

Anyways, please give me some ideas of location and brand of strobes.

thanks.

u might have problems witht he police with the strobes, but it sounds like a good idea to me.

location is kinda hard, if u want a good spot, it has to be seen by everyone. unless u have tinted windows, having strobes on the window would be pretty obvious and it'll kinda look bad..but there's people more creative than me so those of you who are, speak up

hmmm strobes to make it harder (or longer) for them to steal parts inside your car....

air horn (located inside the car) so when triggered, shock the bastard (maybe have the air horn a 1 - 2 minute delay after trigger of alarm)

2 way lcd alarm..

what else??

By this time, you should be aware that you car is tampered with and should go out and protect the car.

wow. very excellent trick. Besides a thief wouldn't expect it. It would work very similar to a flash bang. Perhaps set one near the left tweeter in the dash aimed towards driver. Maybe a few others. placed through out the car that would just cause nuisance for the thief to run. But than another thing is to make sure the alarm doesn't have any way to set them off while driving or insta crash. But other than that. It would defintely help. Plus.. A pulsating light attracts attention which a thief doesn't want.

If you guys are really interested in you cars security and want a good alarm, here are a few fun ideas.

1) DEI makes a 2 way pager remote start alarm called the RS III
this alarm will tell you if your doors been opened, alarm is going off, or if your car has been hit. its got a 2 1/2 mile transmitter. I got this one for my lancer and love it, I just need to install it (****)
it retails for about 467 to 500, at least at Best Buy.

2) another cool trick you can do with your current alarm is change the siren to one tone instead of going through 5 different ones.

3) Best Buy or DEI makes a small loud high pitch tweeter that can be mounted underneath your dash attached to a 6 volt thin battery. This way when yer alarm goes off it the theif is in the car he will go deph. I had it in my old Escort and it was a loud *****.

4) This may not be legal but Pep Boys used to sell an item called the tazer. a long tube that went accoss the steering wheel and covered you stereo. when you armed you alarm it would tick 5 times then go active. If a car jacker came close to touching it it would put out anywhere from 200 to 900 volts. OUCH !!!!

If non of this pertaims to what you were looking for I'm sorry, just thought I would let you all know.
