humans can tolerate up to 5,000 volts or something like that before it actually becomes painful. i think static electricity shock is like 4,000 volts. 900 volts would feel like a little pinch. a continuous 900 volts, however, would be ****ing annoying as hell.

Voltage is not the factror you have to worry about. It's the frequency. If you stick a screwdriver in your socket at home it will give you a 120v 60hz shock, if you have a 400v with 60hz, yes, that would suck more. But if that 900 volts has a 60hz frequency then you won't be feeling good.

hahha

sorry

it's not the frequency, frequency has nothing to do with it. it's the current. the current has to do with the impedence, which is directly related to voltage. V=IR buddy. frequency is just cycles per second. pretty much unrelated to power except for phase shifts.

its resistance the greater the resistance the more of a shock you will get plus the backward format of the flux capacitor, with the mega ion pulse generator, tapped with a 15,000 pico farad cap, whew that will be tough =P

putting strobes all over ur car shouldn't get u in trouble with the cops. whats the cop gonna do? ticket the guy who's tryna steal ur car?

but yea, another idea is to put in a fog machine. alarm goes off. your interior fills up with fog. person gets scared and runs away or he jsut stays and can't see jack ****.

add that some sirens adn the strobes and u can call ur car a club instead of a car.

<-- car thief taking notes j/k Seriously, I think thats a good idea, it will blind/shock the ish out of the bastard whos stealing ur stuff...

another idea is to install 4 or more strobe lights(like those camera flash) and have them come in different intervals so the thief wouldn't know what hit him/her and eventually he/she will get annoyed and run away hehehe

I dont like the fog idea, because my alarm is sensitive and i dont want the fog to dust the inside of the car all the time.

and the strobe idea is good, but you guys do know that a set of strobes will cost you about 260$US for good ones, right?

I belive its Amps that make it "hurt"... all i know is the police tazers will make ur legs stop working... I've seen a 6'8, 190lb man fall to the ground after a "step"....

if ur that scared of ur car getting stole... park ur car in a garage.... and GET A GUN.... hell for the resale of the LANCER i doubt and1 will be stealing ur car.... the will go for a car with a better resale than ours... and if they are breaking into ur car... prolly to get ur subs and Head Unit... i would like to quote my friend for this: "if some idiot is crazy enough to break out one of my window in my navigator and then climb thru, he can have my subs.... in the end he will prolly die before he can get home.... " and this happened at my work, to one of my friends explorer. They broke out the rear window and pulled his subs thru it.... the idiot cut his arm on the glass and when he went the hospital... the cops arrested him.

LoL, I did that in my Civic before after they broken into it, I installed a Xenon strobe on the dome light and a 120dB horn inside too ! darn they never tried to steal it again so I didn't know if it would have worked !

Ok, just to set the record straight on the off topic ish: Volts hurt you, Amps kill you. You can be killed by as little as .0015 amps, (Watts = Volts x Amps). Now onto the car theft deturrent. If you are extremely worried about some master thief trying to get your goods you can take it to any level of protection you want. By the time you install strobes and all that jazz you were probably better off just getting shatter proof glass, problem solved. As far as stealing your car, well if somebody wants it and they truely know what they are doing they are going to get it, sorry. There are tricks to short out your fuses to make you doors unlock themselves and if you cover the inside of a truck with copper mesh wire a GPS signal won't even be trackable inside it. Lets get real: We drive cars that are sold on lots outside, not $100K+ small dick replacements/trophy wife cars. Get a two way system with shock detector, shatter proof/resistant glass and you'll be fine. Unless you are less concerned with vehicle protection and more concerned with having something new/novel. P.S. If you plan on doing the strobe thing talk to a professional lighting company about getting bulbs and at least put shatter proof glass around THAT. (A bunch of little ones won't be as effective due to lumen/footcandle distribution)

I still prefer flames shooting out from under the car or a sawed off 12 gage riged to the roof.
