791xv Help

My battery died while my alarm was armed, so I jumped it but the alarm has disabled the ignition and I can't start my car.. no big deal I just disarm the alarm.. but on the remote when I'm sitting in the car says the car trying to disarm it, I get the little beeps that say the car's out of range. I think somehow the remote got un-synced with the alarm brain... can this happen? Is there anyway to sync them again or does anyone have any ideas how I can disarm the alarm? (Took the battery out of the car right now since it's dead... but it will jump.)

Reinstall the battery. Find the little valet switch. Its a black press-button switch. Put the key in the ignition. Turn it to the on position. Do not attempt to start the car. Press that little black button 1 time and release. Your alarm should now be silent. Start the car. If that doesnt work, the manual overide button sequence was altered fromt the factory default.

Now, turn off the car and keep pressing the lock button on the remote. Press it repeatedly until your car responds. If it does, the alarm will work as normal, if it doesnt, then you have to reprogram the remote.

To reprogram the remote, Open the drivers door. Insert the key in the ignition. Turn it to the on position. With the same black valet switch, press it twice and hold it on the second press. On your remote, press the lock button. Your siren should sound briefly. Release the valet button and take the key out the ignition. It should sound again. After that, your alarm should work the way it did when it was installed.

K, I'd want to clarify... Your car currently has no battery? If so, then the alarm brain might not have power to operate, therefore, you your pager is not talking to the brain. If you do have battery power to your car, check the alarm fuse. It might be blown or loose (have had that happened.
