Instead of connecting the wire to your e-brake sensor wire. Just connect it to a on-off switch. I believe the wiring goes (Sensor-Wire)---(ON/OFF Switch Positive)---(Switch Ground to Vehicle Ground). Got to push the switch on on then off to trick the dvd player. Depending on what position the switch is in it may be from off to on or on to off.

/\ that will not work as the n2 and n3 are internally hooked up to a gyro sensor which will cut the video when the car goes over 5mph...

The switch will work until you move and then bye bye video..

You can run the video out into the rear view camera input and that will gety the video up...

I know how to bypass the n2 by putting a piece of solder between two contacts on the bottom of the unit...but I dont know if the n3 has this or not...

this is what some people have been telling me that you have to open the brain box on the avic n3 and solder something but i am having second thoughts about that! because something could go wrong, the shop that i might take it to says they have done two already but it still makes you think if they **** up then there goes my unit! i was wondering if there might be another way but thanks for the input guys anymore suggestions out there???

Yup, you're pretty much screwed on watching video on the main screen while driving with the n3. Only way to take care of it is to open it up and internally modify it. Which I would definitely not do. I have my pioneer avh-p6400cd head unit hooked up so that I can watch dvd's while I'm driving and I hardly ever do it. Only time I watch tv is at car shows and then the car's stopped anyway. Plus, if you want your passengers to watch anything, it should be done through other screens anyway since it's kind of hard for rear seat passengers to see the head unit from the back. Plus, any video that is visible to the driver while in motion is illegal. I've always thought that was a stupid safety feature and that if I want to drive while video plays on my head unit, I should be able to. But I've caught myself a few times looking at what's onscreen and all it takes is a split second for you to look away and then run into something or someone. So maybe you should just be happy with your kickass N3 the way it is. Or if you really want to be able to watch videos while driving, you could sell it and get a different head unit that can more easily be bypassed.

hey guys thanks for the input but ive been doing alot of research and from what people say all you have to do is connect the wire to your e-brake and there is a sticker on the n3 unit and if you feel it off underneath it theres a switch you just flip the switch and you will be able to watch videos no problem while in motion.

Hmmmm, I can't say that I've ever heard of that. Also, if you hook the wire to the ebrake, you won't be able to watch videos unless the ebrake is pulled. My pioneer head unit uses the ebrake wire as a safety feature and all you have to do is connect it to any good ground source and it will enable video while moving. The unit thinks that you have your ebrake pulled. I'm not sure, but if there is a switch on the N3, I bet it only disables the internal gyro sensor and you will still probably need to ground the ebrake wire somewhere in order to watch video while in motion. Although I have to say, I have friends who are car audio installers and they didn't even know there was a switch to disable the gyro sensor. But hey, if it's there, use it!
