i agree. i don't think you can take pride in your stereo if it doesn't work properly. interference is unacceptable.

running a ground wire with the rca wires is pretty much similar to getting better rca wires with a high quality shield. the shield is key because not only does it provide grounding it wraps around the signal wire which further helps prevent RF interference.
I have about 40 ft of symbalink laying around in my garage collecting dust thank you. I do believe I know a little about it. I just dont think its worth the money for the average stereo junky.
Audiophile yes. I did not know that ethernet uses balanced line though. Thanks for the info.

I just mentioned the ground wire with rca as an easy and cheap fix. Much cheaper than buying new rcas. I just didnt want him to go out and spend $$$ on some monster cables that are not worth the money.

As for the speakers having static. Make sure that none of the + and - wires coming to the speaker are touching each other. It only takes one strand to screw things up. Also make sure that the wires are not grounding themselves out on a piece of metal near the speaker inputs. If you have a spare amp you may want to check and see if the amp is inducing the static. could also be rcas. maybe distortion or blown tweets. check all that stuff out.

So you like playing your speakers loud enough to go deaf huh. WHATS THAT RINGING IN YOUR EARS??? Its people like you that give true audiophiles a bad name. just my humble opinion.
