Arrow Head Unit Problems. Need Help.

A few days ago, I posted that I thought my front left tweeter was malfunctioning or something, because it didn't play as loud as the front right.

Last night, using my audio test CD (20-20K Hz), I realized that it was both the front AND back left speakers that don't seem to play as loudly.

Thank you CAPTAIN OBVIOUS for your MIGHTY POWER OF OBSERVATION, but no, its not the fade setting. I did a 360 degree check, front isolation, rear isolation...

So does anybody have ANY idea what might be causing this? Is the HU malfunctioning or something? I don't want to have to pull it out and take it into Best Buy (I got the employee price for the replacement plan), because honestly, I don't really trust them there. Also, all they'll do is ship it out, and then when it gets back a month later, they'll say its fine, and it will be dinged up from their crappy handling.

Somebody help PLEASE.

Well that sucks man, I hear ya on the Best Buy thing, I wouldn't trust them either!! It is very possible that the left channel in the HU has gone or is going bad! There could be a short somewhere that is affecting only the left side(very unlikely but possible) so check all the connections at the radio and at the speakers before you take any action like warranty stuff... if you haven't had it long they should just pull it out and slip another one in!! That would also tell you if the problem is the HU and not a short or something else...

unless you have it run through an amp I would say that it was the HU and ya need to get it fixed or replaced.

Well that was my suggestions as well, but I figured swapping with the stock unit would let you know if its the hu. Good luck coda.

The speakers aren't amped, which is why I thought it odd it would only cut on the left channels. Maybe its the internal amp? I wish I had another Pioneer HU to swap so I could check. Maybe I'll pick one up at Walmart and then do the return thing.

If you work at Best Buy, take it back and have the install team take care of it. Employee deck install is less than 25 bucks. Take it out, swap it with the factory unit. If that clears the trouble, let install put in the new one. Test it right after they're done. Don't tell them you've got this problem, let them take the blame.

I hate being shady, but Best Buy sucks (I was a PC/HO super) and I would have to problem getting them to foot the bill should something be broken.
