Ignition wiring

I was outside a couple minutes ago prepping my car for my remote install this weekend and got caught a little by surprise. On the wires coming from the ignition there are yellow and a red clip attached to certain ones like the starter and accessory. From how they look I'm thinking they are inline taps for some option I don't have but Im not sure.

I noticed that when i was installing my remote start. I speculate that it is there so that you can easily remove the key assembly without having to undo wires and whatnot. I just unhooked the little clamps and then unclipped that and spliced my started wires into that. Then i reinstalled the metal jacket and outer shell and bam, done and done.
