Be careful what you buy. Most MP3 players have much poorer sound quality than normal CD players. This includes the times you are playing a normal audio CD. Read the signal/noise ratio carefully. A higher number is better. As a general rule I would not buy a deck with less than 100 S/N ratio.
The MP3 players I looked at had the worst s/n ratio of any CD player on the market. Perhaps that has changed now though.

Based on those crutchfield units, I would get the blapunkt (sp?) or panasonic. The rockford, pioneer, and jensen had real crappy s/n ratio. The aiwa is even worse with a 85.
My Alpine standard CD player has a s/n ratio of 105.
This directly relates to how good things sound, especially at higher volume levels.

that's why i never bought one. when they first came out they were pretty much a low quality head unit with mp3 capabilities. hope the quality has increased since then. anything is better than my stock head unit (i hope).
I did a lot of research and from what I read, the new Pioneer was the best one unless you need front outputs. I bought the Pioneer and have only had it for a week, but love it -- has pretty quick load times and the visualizations are bad ***. Great sound and plenty of EQ settings to tweak.

not true, not true....The Kenwood Excelon series was one of the first two mp3 decks out and still is the best. Crutchfield is for suckers who don't know anybody that installs stereos. You'll have better luck getting a deal just by talking to someone in your local Circuit City, Best Buy, Soundtrack or Car Toys. I would go with the pioneer if you wanted to go commercial, but Kenwood's last longer.
Another option I'm looking at is a Clarion LCD display unit with front mounted RCA's for running a laptop or ps off, and using them as the mp3 player
