Next up: Adding optical output to factory CD player

Heya folks, just thought I'd post up my plans, I'm thinking of adding an optical output to my old stock HU, as a test for adding the same to my Denon/rockford unit, I'll try and post some pics once I'm done, and of the progress.

I did this on an OEM head unit a while ago. We wound up using an external power supply and it worked great. {Stealth}

I'm gonna try it and see how well it works, once I get it working, my Denon is next... then I can use the Denon, with the optical on my H700

I am pretty sure Denon uses the same DAC chip as their units with Coax out. You should only have to do some soldering for that one I think and mount the Toslink connector.

cool. I'm hoping it's that easy, otherwise I have to use the CP-1201 standard output from the CD control chip, which will give me a standard toslink output.
