Stock speakers

I got this 300 watts, 2 channel amp sitting in my basement. Would the stock speakers be able to handle that power?

I would hook up:
front-right and rear-right to output-right
front-left and rear-left to output left

not a chance. They are 15W speakers and marked as such.

My stock speaker lasted for about 4 seconds before one of my 1200.1's completely decimated it. The surround completely shredded. Spider ripped off the basket, and the cone pretty much launched out of the basket, held only by the voice ciol wires (which contacted each other in the air, and fried)

Good times.

Now the answer to the question is that you CAN hook up a 300w amp to the speakers, but you probably shouldn't.

Though I'm sure you don't run very high amplification... right?

Isn't that the point? I didn't expect to push them at 150w each. With a lower level output, the amp could have give me some better sound quality. But if you guys say it not worth it, well so be it. You don't have to start that hate campaign. A simple NO would have been just fine.

Thanks anyway

Well, if you're not gonna turn up the volume, then get a 1000W amp and use that. You asked if the 300W would work adn the assumption was that you wanted to know if the stock speakers would handle 300W. The answer was no and several people supported that answer. There was no hating campaign.

Yeah, you're right. Let me put it this way then,

Would it be worth the time and effort to hook up the stock speakers to an amp for better sound quality?
