Hey, I just recently got a 2003 oz, and I'm planning on getting two 12'' type R's. I work at best buy and have been told by all of the guys there that the none of the boxes they sell really fit the type R's . So I'm looking for a box that will fit in my car and hold the subs. any suggestions ? I'm looking mostly at sealed boxes.

I have 2 type r's and have tried numerous boxes and they like a little bigger than what the manual says. I found they sound best in a sealed box with 1.75cu ft per chamber. I actually bought one off ebay that was about $60 and it was all 3/4 MDF and very well made and it wasnt too big at all.

 

Excellent I think I found the box I'm looking its about 1.25 which should be plenty. Quick question though. What Amp are you running with your setup?

 

Sorry for the very delayed response, I forgot I posted here. Anyways for your question if it will still be of help, I used a MRD-1005 for my Alpine Type R's. It was perfect for two, be advised though even though it is a very efficient amp it does draw alot of power. I would suggest a capacitor or two or maybe even an extra battery assuming that you probably will be running a 4ch, or at least an Optima under the hood. Hope that helps. I don't know how handy you and your bud's are but I have built a couple of 2 speaker boxes for my friends car. Just need wood, sandpaper, and fiberglass(maybe with bandaids). But it is totally worth is cuz you get exactly what you want after about 10-15 hours of work.
