i think its come down in the end that this whole sub choice is on prefference, i love memphis and mmats, i love orion, i love jl, i love a lot of brands but its what you have money to spend. honestly i have heard some 12 in lightning audio crap subs that have sounded damn good in a car. its the right set up that allows you to get the most out of what you own

my bud /w a 2002 explorer has 4 of these things in the back... all in custom high output JL boxes /w 4 1000/1 jl amps running each sub.. lets just say he owns at competitions like slam fest in orlando... they are have exellect sound quality... but if you wanna weigh your car down A LOT... because these things are very heavy.. you might as well not even drive a evo... but good for lancer !

Just my .02 Travis

When choosing a sub, be damn sure you know what you want to get out of it or you will just be wasting money. I bought an 8w7 for me Evo because I wanted clean tight responsive bass without shaking my car apart. To my surprise, that sub will catch low notes in music that it shouldn't. It just seems impossible. My box is pretty large for an 8in box though. I love the sub and always wanted one, so I bought one. GoodLuck and listen to BillAce because he has damn good info.

Also look at a Diamond Audio TDX, somewhat cheaper and sound better. Not my opinion either, there are quite a few megazine reviews that rate them better than the W7. Get one in the transmission line box and that will beat damn near anything on the street in SPL and SQ except for gangstas on 24's with 4 15's in the back
