I say towards the cabin... You can fold down the seats, roll down the windows, and rock on!

Face it into the trunk so it effectively uses the airspace in your trunk to produce sound.

if you can try it both way before hard wiring it in, do it! That'll be the best gauge in knowing what you'd prefer... I prefer less trunk/plastic rattling and more acoustics in the cabin with the rear seats folded down!

Mine have always sounded louder/better when facing the trunk lid...especially the closer it is to the lid...

^Ever try turning it around though and fold the seats down? World of difference... With the seats up, no need to open windows. Fold down the seats, you'll having hearing loss if the windows are up. Must~release~the pressure!!!! LOL

Well it's a vented box and facing the trunk lid with the seats down is the loudest...

I had my two 12's facing the rear seat completley blocked off from the trunk.

Before the strut bars, and my custom designed boxes/amp racks I had a huge sealed box that took most of the trunk. Firing into the cabin sounded best, and with the current setup, folding down the seats gives me the added in-cabin "volume".
