Aftermarket HU
Ok im sure this has been answered but was sort of unsure how to phrase it in search so sorry if its redundant but now that i have my Kenwood aftermarket HU installed the ring around the HU wont fit on and just looks tacky. is there any way around this?

I put some plastic spacers on the back side of the factory bracket plates before I screw’d it back in.(my pioneer uses the stock brackets) Tricky part was making all 4 spacers stay on the screws. So I screw'd in the head unit enough to stay in place, cut a slice in the spacer, slid them in around the screw (behind the bracket) and tighten it up. The head unit stuck out enough (for me) to put on the trim on after that.

Just redrill the holes in the mounting brackets a a little bit further forward. I don't imagine it is really more than about 1/4" off, you can make it so that it will all fit right, just take some measurements and take your time. Or, bring it to my shop and I will do it, but that will cost money.
