EVO sound... thread#1324543

I really hate to post this, considering there's already a lot of stuff in this forum. But if anyone wants to chime in, I appreciate it.. I did some searches and figured the results were not for me.

I've got a general idea for what I'd like to accomplish with sound.

1, I want to get rid of the stock system.

2, I want to use the LEAST amount of space as possible. Direct replacements, and hidden components, etc.

3, $1000+/- spending limit (not including H.U.)

I'll start with the head unit I'd like to get.. Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD

1 Sub (10 or 12?) Which one?

1 AMP..

2 in the front - ?
2 rear shelf - ?
2 tweeter in pillars - ?

I'm planning on installing everything with the stock head unit at first, then get the Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD in there sometime in the future.

I have some ideas so far:

Front Speakers: Pioneer TS-D170R
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-NpW6bcz...170R&s=0&cc=01

OR, Infinity Kappa 652.5i
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...=1&cc=01&avf=Y

Rear Shelf Speakers: Pioneer TS-A1767
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-NpW6bcz...1767&s=0&cc=01

I really dont know what kind of SUB or AMP to get..

Id skip the speakers in the rear and just leave them stock. run them off the deck and amp the front speakers. that way you dont mess with your front staging. Besides who cares about how the music sounds to the people in the back.

the first thing you want to buy is the head unit. If you stick with the stock one you will be wasting your money on line out converters that you do not need. not to mention the voltage may be crappy depending on which line out unit you buy.

sub wise I would run 1 12. There is no replacement for displacement.

for amps I would look for a used zapco ag 360 or reference 360. these amps are beasts and have the bling bling factor that other amps dont have. I would take the ag series before I bought the reference.

front speakers. test them yourself. I cant tell you what you think is best. I perfer my eclipses but other people dont like them. Its all up to you. I would just by coaxials if you planning on building a decent system. comps cost to much.

Sub wise. ONYX. I just recently tested these and they put my older eclipse alluminum to shame. well not to shame but you could hear the difference. louder and clearer. I would buy the black one unless you want to get fancy and buy the aluminum one. but then you have to chose between sq and spl. black paper=biased towards spl. aluminum=biased towards sq
