EVO guys, what do you think of this system?
don't worry about www.etronics.com , they are a respectable company that just wants business! my friend got his cd player in 2 days..and at a low price.
so Vanilla, u want a 5 chan setup? like 4 for speakers and 1 for the sub? there ARE amps out there like that, Memphis has a couple and are supposed to be very good. i havent heard much from other companies.
so hit us back with some questions and we should be able to help u!

By the way, great pics and description of them at www.justcarspeakers.com
the fronts you picked are nice. they are the rev series from pioneer and sound really good. the amp is a 4-ch and not much good for the sub as bobaab said, a mono block would be a lot nicer. as hank has mentioned, i wouldn't put the a-series pioneer's in the back, if anything go with a mid-bass driver or nothing at all. if you chose nothing, then you could use the extra cash to buy the pioneer rev components instead of the coaxial!! infinity perfect subs are awesome subs so don't change that one. as for a head unit, i would choose an alpine for the overall nice sound they produce. some has been a regurgitation, but at least it gives you an idea os what to do and what not to do. good luck
get ur stuff from www.ikesound.com for 40-60% less than crutchfield!
it's not a scam! i just got my headunit from them!

I'd like to thank everyone for chipping in... I'm a total noob when it comes to sound systems, and a lot of stuff said here helped me out.
I've revised my list:
HU: Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD
Front: Infinity KAPPA 63.5I 6.5" 3 way
http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=inf635i
Rear: Rockford Fosgate FNX2406 fanatic X 6.5 Midrange Speakers
http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...4047&catid=358
Sub: Infinity Perfect 12.1 or 12.1d? (12" 4-ohm Vs. 12" Dual 4-ohm <--12.1d)
The difference in price between the two is small, so I could choose either. I'd want the one that would work and sound best with the rest of the stuff I've chosen.. (duh, heh)
AMP: Kicker KX700.5 (40W x 4 + 200W x 1 Car Amplifier)
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lVltL0j...sp?i=206KX7005
OR
Audiobahn A4004T 50W x 4 Car Amplifier
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...=1&cc=01&avf=Y
So how do these new choices sit with you guys?
Is it correct that the Kicker would power EVERYTHING? (w/ DVD HU, front 3 ways, mid rears, and 12" sub?)
And the Audionbahn?
Thanks again for any input!

Yeah, and I like ***** smeared with ice cream too...
Vanilla (*no pun)... is there some specific reason you continue to choose coaxial speakers for the front? In stock locations, a coaxial speaker will not image as well, nor will it deliver the output and clarity of a component set.
The Kicker 5 channel is a solid amp and will run everything you've mentioned. I'd dodge the Audiobahn...
And as for the sub, get the D, it'll allow you some flexibility in system construction.

Coaxial speakers are a woofer and tweeter (bare minimum... some toss in a "supertweeter) running in a single basket. The sound of both woofer and tweeter are on axis at the same point, hence coaxial. In an install where you would recieve on axis performance from both woofer and tweeter, coaxial speakers offer a VERY nice sound. However, since this is a rarity in the in-car environment, coaxials aren't so hot for imaging or soundstage.
A component system offers a seperate woofer and tweeter, with an external crossover. To get the best possible imaging/clarity/sound from them you can play with the positioning and attenuation of the tweeter. Their only real "drawback" if you'd like to call it that, is the slight amount of extra work involved. You have to mount not only a woofer, but also a tweeter, and a crossover (a mystical magical box that gets wires plugged into it) which makes sure each driver gets only it's proper signal.
For the money, I like Crystals. http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/CRYCPE60
They offer a clean, uncolored sound with excellent transicent response, a nice midbass, and delightful highs. Add to that the fact they do very very well, even with moderate power (25rms) and you've got a real winner. The only thing I found that I liked more than my Crystals was a hand-picked component set with a custom crossover I had to build myself. (Most would say it's more work than it 's worth)
Aside from the Crystals;
Image Dynamics Chameleon series are quite nice, http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/IDSCXS64
Oz makes some very nice drivers, and their component system is pretty top notch http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/OZA180CS
And here's the one everyone else will try to sell you on (I don't like Infinity...) http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/OZA180CS But what matters is your ears.

And you're right Higgity, a lot of us will suggest the Perfects.

thanks a lot hank. i did a search on ebay and there are a lot of Perfect 6.1 sets going for just over $200
they must be worth it? the details make sense..
i just ordered my Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD touch screen, so that is out of the way. should be here in a few days (already have the crutchfield harness
I am leaning towards the Infinity Perfect 6.1 components for the front... since i'll have the Perfect 12.1d as my sub. somehow i'd like to believe infinity tested all their equipment out as a complete system to make it sound the best. if thats true, then why not go infinity all around.
i'm pretty much solid on this so far:
Front: Infinity Perfect 6.1 component
Rear: ??? (edit*) KAPPA PERFECT 6.1
Sub: Infinity Perfect 12.1d
Amp: Kicker KX700.5 (40W x 4 + 200W x 1 Car Amplifier)
check first post up top, system choices edited

would the Perfect 6.1 fit / work in the rear shelf?
