-as for speakers they should be good
-the sub u picked is excellent
-the amp u should reconsider, especially since it's a multichannel amp and it's Pioneer, there's better ones on that website like this Audiobahn, just a suggestion:
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...=0&cc=01&avf=N
-for the wiring, go to www.KnueKonceptz.com it'll save you some cash and it's VERY high quality. i've gotten their stuff and it's excellent. go to their amp wiring kits section

note: amps should be looked at relative to the subs you're powering. u should get adequate power to them, usually a little over it's RMS is best.
example: the sub u looked at has an RMS up to 350watts. so by getting an amp that is around that, like the Audiobahn w/ 400watts, u should get good sound.

and also, u have to get a box with that sub, making one yourself is best, but if not..i dunno..i dont really recommend Qlogic boxes but i think that sub comes with a QLogic anyways so it should be fine. good luck and have fun deciding! "We're like two kids in a candystore!" -Bart Simpson

bobaab, thanks..

that amp is expensive huh? as long as i keep it under 1000 i should be alright.

I read on Crutchfield that a multi channel amp is best for powering 4 speakers, and a sub... will that Audiobahn mono work with all the stuff im lookin into? (all speakers, sub, and Pioneer DVD headunit/

thanks

ps, and your wiring link =no work

The Pioneer head unit is the way to go, but like import_speedzz says, I would go with Rockford speakers, they are better sounding than the Pioneer speakers overall...

I had a Pioneer head unit in my SUV that I traded in for the EVO and I really miss that thing, the stock stereo on the EVO is WEAAAAAAAK.

you might wanna rethink the regular speakers, you should probably think about putting the 3ways in front and 2ways in rear deck seeing that most of the sound you hear will come from the front 2 since the sub will drown out a lot of the sound from the back 2... you wanna hear the highs when they hit, the sub may kill them in the back... just a suggestion

The sub won't kill the sound from the back, but I still wouldn't put speakers back there. All rear speakers do is draw the soundstage backward. If I were putting anything back there, it'd just be a set of mids (no tweeter), but they'd be getting very very small amounts of power. Personally, I'd rather just save the cash I'd spend on rear speakers, and use it all to buy a NICE set of fronts. Focal, Dayton, Morel, Crystal, Diamond, etc. (yes... you've probably never heard of them. Crystal would probably be the cheapest bet, with the best returns.)

Kunkonceptz will hook you up with some GREAT wire, and tell Bill I said Hi. (it won't save you a damned thing... but I like Bill, he's a good guy)

For the amps, I still say you can't go wrong with JBL. They're strong, inexpensive, and well.... strong and inexpensive. www.ikesound.com has them for good prices, with free shipping, and they're damned quick about it too. (I've picked up about 5 amps from them, never had a problem)

OK, opinions wanted

here it goes:
Front Speakers: $170 pair
Pioneer TS-D170R 6 3/4" 2 ways
Rear Shelf: $120 pair
Pioneer TS-A1767 6 3/4" 3 ways
Sub: $200
Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 12 inch

What do you guys think. Anyone suggest equipment other than what I've got here?

Thanks... appreciate it
Personally, I think you got damn lucky if you picked the Perfect 12 at random. In my opinion you should've gone with Infinity perfects all around. Infinity makes a 6' component set that fits as perfect as it sounds.

Pun intended.
