I just finished installing the Alpine 7897 head unit, this model is now discontinued so if you are thinking of picking one up, now would be the time.

Anyways I installed the unit, everything went smoothly except for the screws that held the bracket to the factory radio are easy to strip. Everything works fine except that I get no AM radio reception. Absolutely none. FM reception works fine. Any thoughts?

Also I do have a quick question, do I need to connect the blue power antenna lead, I dont think our cars have power antennas so I didn't connect it. I did connect the antenna plug and that is why I get FM reception I believe.
