New system (unfinished)

Here's how it looks so far, not done yet. I'll post some interior shots once all the stealth items have been added. Thanks to Nick and Kevin at Classic Stereo in Portage.

Unless you close the trunk, there aint gonna be nothing stealth there. Looks good though. Does the enclosure dip down into the spare tire well?

Oh yeah, will you have access to the windshield washer reservoir? Looks covered?

Yes, actually it consumes the well, and uses the factory spare tire mount to hold everything down, preventing the need for drilling. Your right about the stealth, I should have said in the cabin. There is going to be a switch panel in the ashtray, and a Dakota Digital ammeter behind a smoked plexi panel where the lower cubby was.

The access doors on both sides are still usable. The lower portion is actually below the panels the crossovers mount on, but the factory panels slide up and out. Eventually the panel on the driver's side will be glassed in and the caps and distribution put there. The caps have voltmeters on them, but they are down below the amp under the strut bar now.

Looks like an awsome setup. Do you feel a difference in handling with all the weight in the back?

To be honest I haven't really driven it hard yet. Just was finished last night. I know that it is like carrying a person around in the trunk, but I decided to go for the audio set-up until it is out of warranty, then I'll start the performance mods. This way I've sunk the Evo budget into the stereo, so I can't be tempted to mod the engine(less chance of warranty claim problems).

They do great work at Classic, the hidden gauge panel Nick is working on is going to look great in the lower cubby. It will be switched, so when it is off the smoked plexi will just look like a empty cubby, since the face is set back in some.

How long did it take them to make the enclosure? Took me a few days to complete my fiberglass enclosure.

By the time everything is done, the total time will have been about 10 days. But many things I wanted done a certain way, so that added some time. Even the areas under everything are finished and carpeted. The amp rack lay-up and sub enclosure took several days at least.
