Unhappy Car got broken into :( need alarm

SOme *******s broke my window on my black evo and stole my system. . I need to get an alarm for next time so I will hear them break the window.

Not sure what a good alarm is, but I want remote start and want it go off when they break a window not just when they shake it. I want it to loud as hell to.

Give me some ideas.

Wanna spend around 300-400. OR do good alarms cost more. Let me know guys. Thnx

Damn this really sucks

Also how much does it cost to get a new window. Its the drivers window

im pretty sure any autostart would work for a manual, only thing is you have to find someone to install it or do it yourself. not alot of places will do it. you have to bypass the switch on the clutch. works like the brake switch for your brake lights to go on. if you bypass it you can start your car without pushing the clutch in. well atleast in all the hondas i've done so far.

if you want to do this, (i dont own an evo yet) there should be 2 wires going up to the top of the clutch, connect them and you should be able to use the key without the clutch being in. get back to me, im curious.

I will check around. I know they make alarms specifically for manuals. Just not sure which one it is

You're not going to find a remote start system for under $400. With the engine immobilizer, you need to donate a key to it as well.

I would suggest talking to apursell (i think he might have changed his name to nastea)...he just installed a very nice system...VERY reasonable! Sorry to hear about the break-in!

Fireball is correct. I have an Ultra Start two way paging alarm with remote start and it cost me $550 installed, and I had to donate the spare key for the remote start to operate correctly. The only good thing about the whole thing was that they installed my turbo timer for free and did a custom job by wiring it so that I could get out of the car close the door arm the alarm and the TT would continue to cound down as the alarm was already armed. When the TT is finished the car will turn off and the alarm will still be armed. www.autotoys2000.com did the job and I'm very very pleased. They really tried their best to make me a happy customer. They took thier time and made sure they cleaned up the wireing the best they could even though it's pretty messy.

i installed mine its a 2-way so it pages if some fool starts breaking into your **** that way you can just come out with your glock and shoot him (that just happened to some guy here in the local area) system cost me 180 with everything i installed myself, which saved $300 is very easy to install on the evo, i have posted the wiring info on here and on our club page.

about the window, it really depend on where you're live. I think all insurance will cover it. Here in MA, I don't even have to deal with the insurance company, I just take it to a glass shop and they'll do everything, include the paperwork with the insurance company. BTW, my evo was also recently broke into, didnt lose anything cuz the alarm went off, but the thief smashed my driver side vent window(the thief intend to steal the car so they didn't do too many damage to the car, thank god)

The auto start system needs an original key to get past the factory immobilizer so that it can start the car. They used to put the key in a special little box (DEI did this) so that it could read the key code to make everything work so that the cars alarm would not keep it from starting.

Auto Start

I thought you couldn't get an auto start on a manual transmission. Do you always park in neutral with the e-brake on?
