I've own 2 Pioneer (not Premier) decks in the past. My biggest problem with them is the lights dim when you turn up the volume, assuming you're not using an amp. Can anyone else comment if the recent Pioneer decks do this?

For that price though, that's a nice looking deck...

I am getting my system set up this next week. I work for best buy so i get everything at 5% over cost. So in my opinion, your getting ripped off if you pay that much for that deck, but that doesn't matter lol. I've never had any problems with pioneed decks, I was going to get that deck, but I saw it in someones car and I didn't really like it to much, it is recessed to much. If you haven't seen it in real life go check it out before you buy, it changed my mind completely.

Thats the one I'm getting, the 850 premiere

Just be careful, cause some places will only ship the main deck and not the secondary one - call and double check before you buy it - that's what I did - I thought it was a good price, but didn't have all the bells and whistles

This is my second. I happen to love Pioneer/Premier HU's however. No dimming whatsoever on my 840MP.

I've always like that deck, however I always thought that because of our radio positioning that the pull out front panel would be almost too high up to look and feel right. If you ask me that deck kicks ***, but it would be better off in a car where the radio is placed slightly lower than ours. IMO
