MD or not MD, THAT... is the question

why?
1. they don't skip
2. they don't get scratched
3. they just look pretty damn cool to have lol

why not?

1. they're not cds
2. it's not like i can play mds everywhere i go, unless i have my portable with me
3. they work just the same as cds... lol

this has been running thru my head for a while now and i'm really tempted to go buying one like... TODAY!, or maybe next week... yeah def. next week.

any of you went thru this? or have an md player in yer :: humps lancer :: LANCER

not one of the portable ones of course... i'm talkin about the indash ones... i really would love some feed back just to help me make up my mind

thanks

I have a portable and a expensive home MD unit. I love them. They do get dirt in them after a while and it is not easy to clean. I have not seen a in dash MD in about 3 years. You may want to connect a MD player to the CD changer output on your indash CD.

Like you, I am part of the 1% of the population that actually think MD's are cool. My only main complaint was that it took forever to transfer from any other format to MD (I still don't have a NetMD recorder). Anyway, a car MD would rock. (oddly enough, this is an option on the new RX-8).

My NetMD walkman rocks the house. I love it, and when I bought it I could hook it into my aux input on my dash unit. It's worth it.

The NetMD software lets you compress music like crazy to the point where for an acceptable trade off in sound quality you can put 3 CDs of music on a single MD.

Go for it

heres my .02 cents....

i work at best buy and i had one of the first MD players out there (kinda big, ghetto and recorded like a tape).. so what that really means is ... if u computer lags or skips the song it will also skip on the MD which was kinda gay. but since the new NetMD version came out it records like an MP3s style, the simple drag and drop. and the best part about it is that with MDLP, minidisc long play u can record up to 5 CDs onto one MD. The reason why MDs werent so popular or didnt become big is because it was the same time that blank CDs or making ur own CDs came out, better known as the .com boom... personally i like the MD and i think its the best type of media storage. think about it, a Sony 128MB holds about 4 Hrs of music and it cost like 80-90 bucks for that lil memory stick but with an MD it can hold 5 hrs and only cost about 3 bucks each. i use to use an MD and an ipod in my car and just connected it to my AUX. it kinda got dangerous when i wanted to change the MD while driving or tried to find a song on the ipod. hehehehe.. the best thing to get is an MD changer. u wouldnt have to changer ur aftermarket headunit. 6 MDs in ur trunk or glove box that hold about 5 hours each not bad.

Yep, I have a NetMD, very nice stuff. I want to know how to connect it to my headunit as well. I have a relatively new Alpine. I really have researched anything yet, just was wondering if any of you have an answer already....

md absolutely rocks. best state in the union, hands down.

seriously though, i love minidiscs. i wish cd's had never gotten popular. they simply do not last long enough, and really have little to no cool factor imo. i'm thinking about getting a minidisc changer myself, and use that for all my converted mp3s. i've been wanting to for a LONG TIME now, but only recently have 32x md burners been available AND affordable.

md. whether its the state or the music, it plain

well guys, u've made my decision a hell of a lot easier
i'm getting the 6md changer next week, if you guys want, for those who are interested in mds and stuff, and like the same idea of hookin it up to the head unit, i did do some research on it, and if you want the info, i can post it up later on in da week, i may not be able to today... mad busy

but uh yeah... MD'S HELLA ROCK! you kiddin me?
i have to get the portable netmd one cuz like you guys said, it's better in the recording aspect cuz it uses mp3, not like live recording. N E WAYZ, getting the portable for home use and ****, THEN gonna get the changer for my car, I'm thinkin about installing it either under the driver seat or the passanger seat, weeeeeeeeeee i'm gonna have fun

I just installed the Sony CA680X MD head unit in my car and it's great. I was kinda forced to put MD in since all the CDs that I owned were stolen . . . fortunally for me I had my complete music collection backed up on MD.

I also think that MD is a theft deterrent as well . . . no one knows what the hell MD is!

I don't have one, but they are kick *** IMO... I would get one but, my head unit plays MP3's...so i have all my cds on like 10 cds...=). but if i didn't i would probably get one. but then again the 10 gig ipod goes for like 299 now.. so i'm thinking of alittle bday gift for myself... although i don't need one...they OWN....

BTW: watching disocery channel now and did ya know squirrels got mad hops... lol...
