Thanks...

I wish I could make a kit but it would be quite expensive. It was also very labor intensive. If I could manufacture the case, then I would consider it. But again it would be very expensive.

Well you know..."expensive" is a very relative term. How much would YOU pay for something like this?

Highlights:
1GHz PC w/ integrated ignition power supply (no DC-AC inverter, very inefficient)
Foldout TouchScreen LCD
HD size up to you, but lets say 40GB
WiFi
DVD
GPS
OBDII
Head Unit of your chioce w/ AUX input
Head Unit relocation
Remote USB in ashtray for thumb drives, joysticks, webcams, etc.
USB TV tuner
Firewire

Let me know how much you would pay? If I get enough interest, who know's...

All you need now is a copy of StyleXP and a new theme for your desktop.

If you felt like web browsing while on the road, all you need is a USB Bluetooth adapter, a GSM phone with Bluetooth (like a Sony Ericsson T68i, T610/T616, NGage, etc), a data plan with your cell phone provider and voila - mobile web browsing. Sure, it would be at near dial up speeds, but still pretty cool and just one more piece of functionality you could add to it.

Sweet job though. Reminds me of an MP3 car computer I saw in an Eclipse a year or so ago.

Solicit your idea to Michael Dell and have him pump them out at $600-700 a piece .

Really the only expensive part of the entire thing is the LCD Screen. If they were to come out at a less expensive price more people would have these. Also some people may not need all the bells and whistles that you have so you could pretty much have it custom made. I am going to be putting one of these into my car in the next month or two. Will have pics when I am done. Best thing is I work for a computer store so I can get cheap parts for the computer.

how's about this system, using some of what you got...

1GHz PC w/ integrated ignition power supply (no DC-AC inverter, very inefficient) - that'd be damn cool!

Foldout TouchScreen LCD, or any screen what so ever...

WiFi - uh, wha? lol i'm a little brain dead right now i guess...

DVD/cd-rw combo

OBDII - yet again, something that is making me feel stupid lol

Head Unit of your chioce w/ AUX input

Head Unit relocation

Remote USB in ashtray for thumb drives, joysticks, webcams, etc.

USB TV tuner

Firewire - dunno why i would need it at this point tho.. lol

oh and if you get stylexp, or even object desktop in your car's pc
let me know, cuz i can make ya a fun lil desktop interface for it

OH MY GOD THAT'D BE HOT!

let's say u CAN get this into mass production right, you have each one set up with their own desktop interface that the customer would want (desktopX, StyleXP, Windowsblinds, etc... i know them all lol) just to go along with their car... S.E.X.!!!

it would really sell bro, i know i'd buy it...

and if i was you, i'd sell it at 600 - 800... no more than that tho...

I mean, i know i could build my own, maybe not as sweet as yours but weeeeeeeeeeeeeee

yeah i think i'm gonna see if i still have the parts
all i need is a nice little case... what i wanna know is how i could use like.... CENTRINO or someting to get wireless web.... **** the gps lol haha...
