How to activate Bluetooth???

I have an '08 Lancer ES with Sun & Sound package. There are Bluetooth buttons on the steering wheel.

I finally got a Bluetooth compatible phone (Samsung "Intensity"), and it is listed on Mitsu's compatibility list.

I tried to pair it today, and it appears that the Bluetooth buttons on my steering wheel don't do anything. According to the Lancer owner's manual, when I'm ready to pair a phone I press the speech button to get things started. Well, when I push the speech button, absolutely nothing happens.

I noticed on my window sticker that it says my car is "Prewired for Bluetooth." Does that mean something else has to be done to actually activate the Bluetooth system???

Help!

Mark

Thanks!

And I found a how-to here:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...evo-x-gsr.html

I ended up buying from www.MitsubishiPartsCenter.com
They were a bit cheaper. If I have any problems with the seller, or anything to add to the how-to, then I'll post an update.

I have a mitsubishi lancer 2008 ES. my car is already prewired for bluetooth. The dealer is asking me $2500 to get my bluetooth working. My car already has the bluetooth buttons on the steering wheel. How do i install the necessary parts so then i just get the dealer to program the bluetooth? And what parts do i need? Thanks in advance.

$2500 sounds like the dealer is trying to screw you.

See if you can pair the phone with the car, if not you may need the bluetooth module which connects to the steering wheel controls and radio, which you can get from www.mitsubishiparts.net. Scroll down till you see the bluetooth module for $250.

It should come with a manual and instructions to install and pair your phone. The pairing of the phone is the easy part so no need to go to the dealer.

You could buy the module from the website and get the dealer to install it for cheaper.
