Arrow Component Speakers & Amp

I'm looking at getting some 6 1/2" component speakers, but a friend told me if I were to get them I'd have to get an amp to push them as well. I was wondering what kind of amp I should be looking at to run a decent set of component speakers.

I know someone has probably asked this before, but I couldn't find a post on it. Thanks for your help!

You dont need a amp to run them. It all depends on what you want out of stereo. If you listen to it at a loud level youll want an amp so the speakers have more power so they are not distorting. I run jl amps and love them, but get somthing with a high rms wattage. You can use a 2 channel for the fronts and leave the backs on the headunit.

it would be better if you get an amp...it also depens on your h/u if your h/u has a built in amp in it then no...but be prepared for dimming lights when you bass hits...because components still put out bass
