Pioneer HD5200 and 2008 lancer gts?

My OEM car cd player stopped functioning a while back and yesterday afternoon I replaced it with the pioneer car stereo. I wanted to know if the OEM car cd player was connected to the lancer's bluetooth all together because my cars bluetooth seems to be not working after installation of the pioneer stereo. Did the place where I got the job done jib me?

Not sure, but probably! This is one of the reasons why I haven't changed my factory head unit with an aftermarket one, I don't want to loose Bluetooth capabilities. I've been doing some research for quite some time on this very same issue and haven't been so lucky. If anyone else knows this solution, please let us know. thanks guys!

Im pretty sure that when you buy an aftermarket head unit you also gotta buy the bluetooth adapter so that your standard bluetooth will work through the after market head unit.

if you buy an aftermarket radio with built in bluetooth, you dont need any extra modules, you just use that aftermarket radios bluetooth. im pretty sure there are no adapters to use OEM bluetooth with aftermarket radios, but I know you can use OEM steering wheel controls with an aftermarket radio with a PAC adapter (forget the number). The OEM bluetooth actually has its own plug that plugs into the back of the factory radio im pretty sure.

I didn't know this. This is the only reason I didn't switch out to an AVIC system -- I didn't want one of those tacky looking bands stuck to my steering wheel.

You've just cost me $800.
